RAWR!

Today was kitty day at story time, but don't be confused, it wasn't the sweet little kittens you're thinking of. Miss Jane read books about tigers and lions and had all the kids going "Rawr". Funny thing is that Mama and Daddy call each other "Rawr" and just last week Sammie has been shouting out "Rawr" when Mama is calling for Dada's attention. So today I started teaching her loud and louder! Miss Jane says that tigers and lions rawr REAL loud! Samantha did an amazing job at story time. I think after all this time she's finally starting to get used to it. She did notice the babies and she did most of the songs, signs, and dances, and she giggled and giggled. Although she still didn't pay any attention to the books being read, she has been very obsessed with all her books at home. "Booka booka" is what she says as she's leaning over for a new one or dragging over 2 or 3 to me.
Today was a special milestone for Mama: Sammie did not drink from one bottle! She took all her milk in her cup and it was like it was no big deal. I knew deep in my heart that she would wean herself, but I had no idea when. Society puts such a pressure that we should have given up the baba at 1 year, but I'm happy her schedule and my schedule finally caught up to each other. I was also worried about her morning baba and how awkward it would be relaxing first thing in the morning without one, but she sat on the couch NEXT to me with sippy cup in hand and we read a couple books... just as relaxing as ever.
What a beautiful and intelligent child. Daddy and I cannot get over how much this little girl has grown and how sweet she is! She is giving us hugs and kisses constantly.  I could just sit for hours staring at her and looking at how beautiful and perfect she is. Even though I have always had these feelings, something in her has changed in just these past couple of weeks and she seems so grown. When I ask her how old she is she holds up her two index fingers. I tell her "No, you're 18months.... but it's like you're are going on two."
Her first time exploring the shelves.
