Come on Poopie Diaper!

Sammie is constipated. Too much info?.... Whatever. She hasn't pooped in 3 days. I talked to the nurse this morning and she said that we can give her apple juice. So, Daddy threw an apple in the juicer and made her some fresh apple juice that she LOVED! We are hoping this works. She didn't want to eat her bottle for Grandma today (2.5-3 ounces- max), so now I am wondering if she is really weening from me, or if it's just her tummy that's aching? I guess I'll find out once she poops and is back to normal. Until then, I am still going to try to breast feed her and pump my heart out for her.

I *heart* fresh apple juice

Mmm... I think I got some between my toes!
PS~ Mommy and Daddy are tired. Sammie hasn't slept well the last couple of nights. We are turning into zombies!

Where's My Angel?

Sammie hasn't been herself lately. Last night, she woke up around 11 crying and wouldn't go back to sleep until 1. We tried everything and nothing worked. Finally, she wore herself out and fell asleep. She has also weened herself off from feeding from me.... Very upsetting! She is just starting to have this new personality fighting everything, and we're still used to her being our little angel!

Happy with my camera case. Don't think about taking it!.....

.......WHAAAAAA!

Go Cat Go!

Sammie has really been "talking" up a storm. All through the grocery, all through dinner, and through most of her night time bottle... until she fell asleep. It's so funny!
And she really enjoys chasing Ali...

Ohhh Al-i... hee hee hee

Catching Up

We met up with a friend of Mommy's from school, Donna. It was fun to hang out at Starbucks and play with her a little and catch up. Her and Mommy were "supposed" to be in nursing school together, but I came along- hee hee hee. I hope we get to see her again soon. It's funny, because she is from New Orleans too. Mommy was pretty impressed at how good I was, seeing as I didn't get to crawl around on the floor, although I wanted to so badly. But I did get to climb on the chairs :)
Later, after a long nap, Mommy and I played and then she let me swim!

Me and Donna... I'm soo sleepy

Mommy has been trying to figure out who I look like. We know I have my mommy's dark hair and my daddy's eyes, but Hmm.... I guess I'm just 50/50 and 100% ME!

Play Day

We had our first play date with a new friend, Claire (who's 1), that we just met a couple weeks ago. It's too bad that Claire and her Mommy, Lisa, will be moving back to California this weekend. The 2 girls (and mommies) really enjoyed hanging out with each other. The girls grabbed for each other during lunch, then while playing they would hug, Sammie would give kisses, and Claire would pat Sammie on the head-- It was funny. Claire is such a sweet little girl! It's too bad that Sammie's teeth seemed to be bothering her, because she was a little fussy and wanted her paci. We took a nice long nap when we got home although she was still fussy after.... but nothing a frozen wash cloth couldn't help.

Baked Chicken

Samantha kept Grandma busy, busy, busy with Cousin Nate today. However, Grandma found the time to make us a delicious dinner. Sammie got to try her first bite of baked chicken. I think she liked it way better than the Gerber meats-- yuck!

Kicked back, feet up, chicken's YUM!
Need I say more?

Lights Out

Samantha was in an excellent mood today! After a long nap, we went in her little kiddie pool, which she was hesitant about getting into (because of yesterday), but she managed to get over it. She really enjoyed her time splish-splashing in the water. Daddy even showed her that she could crawl in the water and splashed some water in her face, which didn't bother her so much.
For dinner, we tried Macaroni and Cheese for the first time. I think her tummy was aching, since she was spitting up some after feedings, but she kept opening her mouth for more Mac-n- Cheese. I even mixed in some Garden Veggies with it.
It's been about a week, that I have been teaching Sammie how to turn off the lights in the bathroom after her bath. Yesterday, she turned it off with Daddy, but I thought it was just a fluke. Tonight she turned them off and when we turned them back on to get the picture, she turned the lights off AGAIN. I think she gets it now.

Just wadding in the pool (see my teeth)
splish- splash!

Hi Ali!

Lights Off

The Mad Man's Pool

After Daddy and I cleaned the house today, we hung out with our friends. I explained to Sammie that after her nap we were going to hang out with Mike, Lori and Nate, and go in Nate's kiddie pool, which is a little bigger than hers. She slept well (2 hours) and when she woke up, we got everything ready to go. Well, it was time to get in and the water was COLD! She seemed ok with it, until mad-man Nate screamed with excitement and dived in! Boy, she didn't like that! I had never heard her cry like that in water before and she did not want back in. I'm not sure if it was Nate's excited screams or the cold water... probably both. We watched Nate in the pool for a few minutes and after wards they played together, with Nate giving her random hugs and kisses. What a sweet boy.

Please don't make me go back in, Mommy.
I want to bouncey- bouncey

Free To Be

I am so happy that Samantha was in a better mood this morning/today, than she was yesterday. It's nice to have my little angel back! This morning she woke up EARLY! 6:00- early! I went in and got her at 6:30, then she napped from 7 til 8-ish and stayed in her crib until after 9:00am. We're very lucky that she is able to keep herself busy in her crib. After we woke up, we did some cleaning and Sammie helped me put the clean dishes away. Of course, the one and only thing she grabs is not the tongs that she had her hands on, but the bread knife! Ooops, Mommy. While hanging out in the kitchen, she pulled up on Ali's stool and reached for the back door to watch the kitties, although the kitties weren't there yet. I guess she is getting herself ready to start cruising the furniture. Joy. The advice I was given is to knock her down. I'm not sure if I have mentioned this already, but she sure is becoming a handful! It's nice that she can, and will, stay in one spot for a few minutes and play with her toys, but when she is in "go- mode", she is in everything.

One day I'll escape from this place!

I can help you, Mommy.

Mmm... bananas for lunch!

I got you this time Garden Veggies!

Finally figured out these veggie crunchies. Nom nom.

I had to make Daddy laugh one more time before bed.

Miss Fuss Bucket

Since Samantha didn't want to go to sleep last night, she was in a very cranky mood this morning. She fought putting her clothes on and didn't want to get in her car seat. Although, she was excited when she got to Grandma's house and saw Nate.... So excited, in fact, that neither of them wanted to take their naps, which just leads to more fussiness! Daddy and I both tried to get her to take a nap when we got home, around 5pm- a usual nap time, but she didn't want to. At least she got in some good quiet time. After wards, we hung out and tried to use up all this energy she had in her. She watched the kitties roam, crawled all over, and rough housed with Daddy. By the time bed time came, she was WORN out! Like Olivia's mother says "You wear me out, but I love you anyway."

Climbing Mt. Daddy

It was a good fight, but I think the Garden Veggies won

Wild Child

Samantha doesn't say "Mama" like she used to. Now when it rolls off her tongue, it's usually because her gums hurt. However, she has been saying "Dee Ta" and we aren't sure if it's supposed to be "Dada" or "kitty", but she always has a smile on her face when saying it and it seems like she's singing it.

For dinner, I went back to the vegetables. I was afraid she was starting to not like foods since we introduced meats, but she thoroughly enjoyed her Garden Vegetables tonight!  I guess we will be sticking with Gerber veggies and fresh fruits for now.
She was a super angel today, but when bedtime came, she turned into a WILD CHILD! She did not want to go to sleep... she barely even wanted to take her bottle. All she wanted to do was climb over my shoulder on to the top of the rocking chair or crawl all over Daddy on the floor, singing "Dee Ta". It was cute, but by 8:15, very frustrating!

Garden veggies and crackers

I'll hold my own cup, thank you

Lil' Monkey

Sammie was so excited to see Cousin Natey-Nate this morning, that she tried to get him out of his car seat by herself. If only she could figure out the buckle :)

Come on, Nater... Let's go play!

Samantha has had a hard time sleeping, but finally Daddy got her to sleep last night and she slept well until 7am. We still have lullabies and beach sounds playing in Sammie's room 24/7, so we bought a sound machine for Grandma's house to help her take naps like she used to-- longer than 30 minutes... So far, it's working-- she took 2, over 1 hour, naps today. YAY!

Now that Sammie is crawling, she is getting into EVERYTHING! She really wears us out! She tries to eat all the computer/cell phone cords, Ali's cat food, even our socks and shoes. One of her new favorite places is under the coffee table that we moved into the corner of the living room. I don't blame her, it's like a private little fort. When she's not crawling all over or hiding, she loves to climb. She climbs on anything! Grandma said that today, she tried to climb over her little rocking chair. What a little monkey!

Headed into my fort
Nom-Nom, Sophie, it's nice to chew you. ~Can you see my 2 bottom teeth?

Never Too Early

Finally! A day to be at home with no plans. We sure were pooped today; and even though Samantha slept all of the car ride yesterday, she did not skimp on her naps today!
I really liked that our GI doctor said that I could feed Sammie what I wanted because I am happy to not have to wait the 3 or so days in between trying new foods. I have decided  to start having Sammie eat meals with us (if/when possible). As we ate breakfast, I gave her an "apple wheel" treat and some fresh Pear in her mesh holder, then for lunch she had Apple sauce (all for the first time). Another new food was introduced at dinner- Turkey and Rice. I think she liked it, but her teeth were starting to bother her and we were done. She really chowed down on the Pear though!!!

As I was putting Sammie in the tub and waiting for the water to warm up, I had taken off her diaper and sat her on the toilet.... just in case she pee'd, it wouldn't be on me :) As Daddy and I were joking about her pee'ing in the potty, she really did! Now I'm wondering- If I put her on it before bath every night, could speed up the potty- training process when the time comes? Hmm...

I *heart* pears

I appreciate flowers in bloom

DADA!

I want to play WOW too

It's never too early to learn!

Today I am 7 Months!

and It's A Nice Day For A White Wedding....

Our friends, Kristie and Chris, got married today in Cistern, Texas, which is about a 1 1/2 hour drive. Samantha slept just about the whole way. While we were waiting for the ceremony to start, Sammie could not contain herself and was talking, singing, and moving all over. She must have had that Holy -Catholic- Spirit in her. She even started saying "Dada". The first time she said it was when Matt went to the bathroom. Of course, everyone thought she was cute, but she was getting a little out of hand, so Daddy had to take her outside. The reception was very long and we couldn't stay the whole time, so we left "early". Needless to say, we are happy to be home.

Hangin' with Dada outside on this beautiful day
