Happy Birthday, Da!

We celebrated Dada's birthday today. Sammie wore her Peanuts balloon t-shirt (that she picked out) and helped Mama sign his card this morning. When we got to Grandma's, she put Sams to work fixing his cake and making him a card. What a day! She had a lot of fun! Sammie-&-Grandma days are very special.

Grandma used an old family recipe to make the homemade pudding for Dada's Boston Creme Pie, that's his favorite cake. The recipe is my Great-Great Aunt Nina's. I put a little extra love in the mix.

 While we had our cake, Sammie fed herself some leftover special pudding. As she ate it, she "yummmed" with every bite. So cute! She also did an amazing job at feeding self.

Extra love makes it extra delicious.

Dada, there's only 4 candles on the cake?

After Grandma and PaPa left, Sammie helped finish cleaning up. We threw the napkins on the floor and one by one, she brought them to the laundry room and put them with the other dirty clothes. What a big help! 

 

 Sammie said so many new words tonight- I totally lost track since she repeats almost everything; but before bed she tried saying "birthday" and gave Dada lots of hugs and kisses. 

We asked her whose birthday was it? Papa's? No. Grandma's? No. Mama's? No. Sammie's? No. Dada's? *she nodded
