Excellence

Samantha was such an excellent girl today. We totally messed up her schedule because it took FOR-EVER for her to take a nap... about 2 hours; but when she crashed, she crashed hard. She pulled the changing cover in bed with her and eventually fell asleep on top. Sadly, Daddy was on the floor next to her so she wouldn't pitch a big fit and was trying to rest while she was wild-ing out. She continued to sleep for about 2 hours.
We went to the grocery today and although she didn't get buckled in, she stayed seated almost the whole time. She was interested in the bag of onions and a bag of croutons and put items in the cart like usual. When we started to unload the groceries in the pantry, she pulled out the croutons and put them on the shelf with the other croutons. She also tried helping Daddy put the milk up, but she couldn't quite lift the gallon. After the groceries were up, she helped do laundry. I sat her on the dryer with a small bin of her dirty clothes and she tossed them into the washing machine, while I tossed in Mama and Daddy's. She is such an excellent little helper! And we will continue to encourage her.
Every day Daddy and I are more impressed, shocked and in love with this sweet angel we were blessed with. My how she is getting so big!
Since she is on the verge of 2-word phrases, we are encouraging her one phrase at a time. Right now we are working on "More, please." She still says them separate. She'll learn reeeeal soon.
