Lori and Nate met us at the Lutheran church on 1431 for the Fall Fest. It was a cute little festival, but we actually went with one thing in mind... they were having a petting zoo! I know Sammie loves animals, so I wanted her to go in since we missed out at Fable Fest. It was too bad that this petting zoo only had bunnies, a turtle, a lizard and chicks-- nothing really Sammie-appropriate, but we had a good time anyway.
There is so much new stuff that Sammie has been doing that I'm not sure if I have noted:
Her kitty kat sound is a high pitch "ahhhhhh"
When you ask what the puppy dog says, she huffs and puffs through her nose
Some times she covers her mouth when she coughs. Grandma Maria was trying teach her to hold her hand to her mouth when she laughs hard.
She tries to steal the camera from Mommy and pushes the button to take a picture.
She knocks when a door is closed. Or when she hears knocking, she looks towards the door.
She tries to feed self (again), but by using a spoon.
When Grandpa tosses a napkin to her and says "Wipe, Wipe, Wipe", she wipes her mouth.
In the bath, she drinks her bath water with a cup (yuck, I know)
When you sing "5 Little Monkeys" she bumps her own head
Now that the weather is cooler, she's been wearing pants. When we change her diaper, she holds her legs up to help you get her pants back on... Socks too.
She sits still and "helps" put her shoes on and can take them off.
She helps with putting on and taking off her shirt.
We got new toothpaste Ok'd by the pedi and she loves brushing her teeth. Tonight was the first night.
She sure has a personality all her own! She has gotten more squirmy and independent. She fusses a lot if you try to help her too much- Mommy isn't used to that, but she still wants to be in Mommy's arms. Hmmm... I wish she'd make up her mind.
We love that she can walk anywhere, but wish that she could follow more direction and listen when we try to direct her in the right direction. All in due time!
