Like Clockwork

And it happens again. Sammie woke up at mid-night crying hysterically so I had to get up and calm her. Poor Daddy had a final exam to take this morning, so I tried hard to not disturb him, but it was tough because I took Sammie to bed with me and she kept pointing at Daddy, talking and wiggling. Back up again. Pacing. Singing. Humming. Bouncing. She would fall asleep in my arms and once I put her in the crib, she would wake up crying. We gave her the usual round of pain reliever and a warm bottle. It wasn't until the two of us laid on the couch together at 1:45 that she fell asleep a few minutes later. I woke up at 3am and was able to put her in her crib.
I called the pediatrician this morning to see what could possibly be wrong. They think the same thing as we do- growth spurt, or more likely, teething. However, it could be a possible ear infection so we need to watch her and if it lasts more than a couple {more} days we will need to be seen. My poor baby!

Ok, this Mommy's tired. Night Night.

Little Mermaid

Last night Sammie woke up around 12:30 AM, Neither Mommy nor I could get her to stay asleep until 3:30 - We had to give her some tylenol, milk bottle, clean diaper and some precautionary gas drops.  Needless to say I slept in and once Sammie went down for her first nap, Mommy dozed off too.  Sammie has been pretty fussy lately but when she doesn't sleep through the night there must be something going on. We assume it's from the new teeth cutting in but could be a growth spurt, or both.  Hopefully she isn't in pain tonight and can get some rest.

She has learned how to do a kissie face and while watching some Little Mermaid sing along videos, Sammie tried to blow bubbles and swim in the tub. She even grabbed the rubber bath crab and danced when Sebastian was singing.  Mommy got a kick out of it, our little mermaid :)

Pretty lazy day otherwise, just some shopping and studying, BUT tonight, since the burn ban has been lifted, we got to grill some BBQ chicken, yum.  Sammie liked watching the fire while the coals were lighting and she also loved walking with Mommy out front, looking at the Christmas lights on the neighbors houses...I guess I'll have to start putting our own lights up soon as well.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was A Bear

Sammie looked so cute in her "new" fuzzy coat. She loves wearing it too.

Grandma and Grandpa Wells put up their Christmas tree already, so Sammie is getting good practice at using her eyes to see it and not touch. Of course, they give in and allow her to touch certain "Sammie- proof" ornaments. We hope we are that lucky and she doesn't take down the lights! I went to visit the Grans tonight, and Sammie really impressed me with knowing where all the on/off buttons are on the ornaments and decorations, and played each one.

Brrr... It's Cold Outside

I went hanging with Grandma Wells and Cousin Naters today. Daddy was so excited that the Saints won last night, I got to sport my hat that Uncle Brian and Cousin Abba got me for my birthday! xoxo, Sammie
Ok, Grandma, say cheese!
Sammie did such a fantastic job eating her dinner, we allowed her to have some yummy dessert: Her favorite vanilla and banana custard. I put it in a bowl and gave her a spoon and let her have at it. She didn't do much scooping, but did dunk her spoon in and licked it clean.

I cleaned Sammie's tub before bath and she hung with me while I did. Once she got in the bath, she took her washcloth and wiped the tub down too. I love how she picks up on everything! Time to start picking up her toys while she's there. Hopefully she'll learn that too!

Poopie End for a Poopie Day

What a lazy day it was! None of us got out of our jammies and we can thank the rain for that. It has been raining/drizzling for about 3 days non-stop and today was the chilliest of all of them. Sammie totally bummed around, laying on the couch as I fed her peanut butter from my finger. She finally went down for a nap and slept for over 2 hours, which brought us passed lunch. For lunch I gave her her own grilled cheese and ham 'samich' and she did a great job eating a quarter of it. Although she fed herself a good bit of it, I think she prefers it to be in little pieces for her (courtesy of Mommy). She also had some thin apple slices, some with peanut butter spread on it- once again feeding herself. It's really cute watching her eat apples because she knows her main chompers are in the front of her mouth.
She had a very hard time going down for her second nap- she tricked us by lying down on her blankie on the floor and wanting milk. We gave her milk, blankie, cuddles, songs and nothing satisfied her for almost an hour. She just wasn't having it. Finally, when I gave in to nursing her, she fell asleep at 5:30! When she woke up, she was just a cuddly monster. We don't know if she wasn't feeling well or what. She didn't want our dinner and didn't want to be in her highchair, so I had to feed her her baby food in my lap!
Well, then it was bath time- Let's just say I think we figured out why she may have been feeling poopie... She pooped in the tub. What a way to end her day.

PS~ Sammie has learned how to say "balloon" and "up".

Don't lay a finger on my peanut butter finger.
Happy to eat grilled cheese by self.

Playing Around

Sammie learned how to eat with a fork this morning!

This afternoon we went to Brad and Jessica's to watch college football, and Sammie had a great time playing with Nate and trying to steal everyone's food. She got pineapple, chips- regular and jalapeno-, a bite of Mama's cookie and almost stole a couple of sodas. Later, we took a walk around the corner to get out the house and check out an open house, which Sammie enjoyed running around in and climbing up the beautiful staircase.

Ali has escaped my grip in the laundry basket.

Chillin' Rain

I wanted cuddles and snuggles during this rainy day!

I can't believe we have to go out in this yucky weather.

Let's just chill.

Wanna Go For A Walk, Doggy?

We went to visit Adam and Marti's new house this evening when I got off work. Sammie had so much fun playing in the empty house and "walking" the 3 little doggies... and giving them treats too. She was such a big girl climbing in and out of a folding chair and eating pizza and bread sticks and drinking from a sports water bottle all on her own.
Taking a break from walking 3 doggies. Woof.
Sammie still loves on baby dolls:
Being sweet with Grannie's old dolly.

Baby Doll/ New Tooth

Sammie is so attached to baby dolls. She "fell in love" when she got to my old Cabbage Patch kid and then it was official when we saw Cousin Abigail and Sammie was attached to her baby dolls. As soon as Sammie sees one she goes bananas wanting to hold it. We went to a couple stores today and she tried cuddling the dolls through the packaging. A lady nearby commented how sweet it was because not all little girls like dolls and it's a good thing Sammie likes them. Well, I guess she is going to be a great nurturer! We officially have one of Santa's elves on the hunt to find the perfect doll for Samantha.
Cuddling with dolly and gumming the shopping cart.

On a different note: We found the reason Sammie has been clingy. As I was checking her gums during brushing this evening, I found a  new top tooth (right) and 3 more white buds (one top left, 2 bottom). Poor Angel!

Sammie is doing such a great job listening and following directions. Some times it's hard to believe that she is becoming such a little girl. You can tell her to do a lot of things and if willing, she will do it. We are very proud of her!
Example: Give it to me; Throw it away; Sit down and take your socks off; Put your ear against the tub; Let's get in your car seat; Let's get your blankie/sippee cup/change your diaper. Where is your sippee cup?

Hugs

Samantha wanted hugs all day.
