Lil' {Cookie} Monster

Wearing skull shirts with Dad~ Had to capture this picture before Daddy left for work. It's such a sweet picture!
<3
Walking to Walgreens~ We had to "run" and get some new antibiotic ointment for Samantha's foot where Niko scratched her yesterday. This morning she walked like she had a peg-leg hurt in war and kept saying her foot hurt. We don't think it's infected, but we need to take good care of it and keep an eye on it. I guess those Snoopy band-aids we bought a few weeks ago are coming in good use.

Dunking cookies~ When Sammie eats a fantastic dinner she gets a cookie. She LOVES dunking it in milk! It must run in the family... on both sides :)

Look at that hair!~ Need I say more? Daddy still blow dries it everytime it gets washed.
PS- We are still seeing sparkles from Silly Sparkles from Children's Day!

Like A Champ

It was Gymboree day and Samantha got her first bump. She was sitting and leaned forward and just toppled over head first onto the plastic thing. She cried a little, wanted "shoul" and after some friend- hugs, Miss Allison blew her some bubbles and Sam was good to go! Later in class, after getting her stamps, one of the little boys grabbed her hair and held on tight. She looked over at me, like "Umm, Mom, get this kid off me." After class, Sammie hopped up on the couch intruding on another family and yelling for me to come sit. The mother commented at how much and how well she speaks. All her words are so clear. It reminded me of this morning when I told Sammie to tell Daddy breakfast was ready. Expecting some sort of mumble, she ran to the back saying, "Daddy, breakfast ready!"
Do you see the bump in between her eyebrows?
Samantha wearing her skull shirt Daddy picked out. He has skull shirts too.
This is what Sams picked out when I asked her to put pants on and get a different shirt. I haven't seen a girl dress so "nice" to specifically go play in the dirt! Niko cat came and after getting startled, she scratched Samantha. Sam came whining to me and we cleaned it up... twice. Still barefoot outside.

Daddy Paint

I had work early this morning and since Daddy was off, Sammie was able to stay home and hang with him... Of course, Daddy put her to work, priming the living room.
Since Grandma and PaPa are going out of town in a couple of days, we went and had dinner with them. Sam did an amazing job eating all of her dinner.

Chillin' out on the way home listening to Biscuit Brothers.

Lesson Learned

It was a pretty uneventful day. Samantha woke up a couple times throughout the night, so she didn't want to wake up this morning.  She snored through my songs and snored in my arms, then I laid her down in bed with Daddy. Needless to say, she took a long nap, waking up to pee (she does this some times and I'm not sure what to do because only half the time she goes back to sleep). She enjoyed watching all the trucks on 1431 to Grandma's, and it just so happened that a tow truck was pulling up a lifeless car right across the street. Sammie and Nate (especially Nate) were so excited to watch it work. Later they saw one of the big working trucks shoot up some water up. Whoa!
Before leaving Grandma's, I forgot to ask Sam if she had to go potty. Whoops! She tried to hold it all until we got home, but didn't make it. Well, she held most of it, though! Good thing for that protector, although the pee didn't go past her shorts. I think we learned out lesson.
Whoa, Mama! Big truck!

Tow truck pulling up a car!
Ms. Mary brought us tooth pillows! Sammie's had "Fairy Dust" with it.
Thank you, Ms. Mary!

Front Facing

Today was the day Samantha has been very excited about because Daddy was going to "fix" her car seat and turn her forward. For two days she would say "Daddy fix car seat." She loves watching everything in front of us, especially big trucks. The first thing she got excited about was a school bus. And she loved to wave at everything that passed by! At some point it rained and she got freaked out, may be because she saw all the drops on the front windshield.
School bus!!!!

Tonight was the first pre-season Saints football game and we went to Grandma and PaPa's to watch it. Daddy and PaPa made hamburgers and Sammie had her own little mini-burger, which she fought to eat.
Rain!
Mama's favorite pic of the day :)

Hi Daddy! We're going to the bookstore.
As I was cleaning our bathroom today, Sammie pointed to the toilet and said "Daddy potty". I guess that reminded her  that she had to go potty, because she started shouting "Potty! Potty!" I told her she  could go in our bathroom, but she was already running to her bathroom. I tried to hurry and clean my hands so I could help her, but she was a quick 'un. She was back in a flash with her potty seat in hand! Also while I was cleaning, between "helping" me, Samantha would get all medicine boxes from the bathroom and the eye drops from the bedroom and put them together and line them on the bathroom counter.  She is really blowing my mind more than ever!

I've been working on getting her to answer questions from things that happened throughout the day or that are going to happen. This evening she impressed me twice! When Daddy got home, I asked Sam who was coming to visit next week and she responded, "GrandmaRia". I also asked her what she is excited about and she responded, "Car seat" (Daddy fix). I've been telling her that Daddy is going to finally turn her around so she can see the world whiz by us and other things that Mama and Daddy see. She is super excited! and so are we. hopefully, no more backseat crying "Mama horseshoe/ hold you".

Lil' Squirts

Grandma bought some new little trucks for Sammie and Nate since they are fascinated with the BIG TRUCKS working out back. Nate couldn't contain himself while Grandma ripped each package open. They loved playing with the their new trucks.

It was pool day! And Samantha and Nate had a blast splashing in the pool! They especially giggled and giggled while squirting each other with the hose. I wish Sammie giggled like that when she gets her hair washed or when she accidentally turns on the shower. She had such a fun day.

Samantha has been doing a fantastic job with names and talking on the phone. After talking to Vacationing- Aunt Pam today, when I picked her up she would randomly say "Aunt Pam".

After a couple weeks of teaching/asking her what her first name is and what her last name is, when asked "What's your name?" she will now respond "Sa-mAn-THa Weellss".  What a smart cookie! She also LOVES*LOVES talking on the phone. She's ok with speaker phone, but when Daddy calls she loves having the phone against her ear. I don't know what he was asking her today, but she was just blabbing away "Granma... PaPa... yeeah... Mama... Shadow..."

After another huge dinner, she received her special treat: a small scoop of ice cream. She was too funny while eating it. *insert pic

Power Tow

I was happy to see that Samantha had a good day with Grandma and PaPa, playing with Daddy's old tow truck and Grandma's old dolly. She was on best behavior when we got home, too! I love when she's in a good mood and everything goes so smoothly.
Grandma Maria ("GrandmaRie") is coming to visit in just over a week and I just so happened to find pictures of her and Sammie in a toy bin. We like to show Sammie the pictures so she is familiar with GrandmaRie. After I found the pictures last night, I asked Sammie who was in it and she responded "GrandmaRia". Boy, she is catching on.  I hope once GrandmaRia is in town, Sammie warms up to her quickly so I can be worry-free. Grandma is going to be shocked when she's seen how much Samantha has changed since April!
Sam loves feeding Ali breakfast.
Power Tow, Daddy!
I Love Grama's cup and old baby.
She does "Tree Top" with Tigger.
Congratulations to my co-worker and friends, Konrad and Michelle and Big Sister, Ella. Baby Lyla came into this world August 1, 2012. She is such a doll!

"March" Messy

Daddy's old friend Mark came by today. Of course, Sammie was shy at first, but since he has two little girls of his own, Sams warmed up quick! When he left Sammie kept asking about "March? March, bye byes."
Play-doh ears. Silly Mark.
Oh... and she was one hot mess during dinner! And she didn't even care. Look at all that milk! She even soaked up milk in her paper towel and squeezed it onto her plate. She laughed and laughed.
