The Cute Things

It was a good day! Sammie has been on a wonderful schedule and I hope I didn't mess it up tonight. Day 2 with no bath, and tonight she didn't have dinner or a bottle; she just got breast. It's been a while since we put her to bed by breast. Hope she stays out the whole night. *fingers crossed*

So, yes, Sammie is the cutest little thang ever. Here she is doing some of her cute stuff...
We love when she plays by herself in her toy "box"

So funny how she sits when she's eating. Coo-kies! Yum!

Holy Guacamole!

We ate dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Wells' house tonight and Mommy fed me some guacamole that she made. I thought it was yummy, but was a little more interested in eating my toes. Everyone is so proud that I am drinking my appy juice from a big kid cup- with a little help from Mommy- but I'd rather it this way than in a bottle. Grandma thinks I am growing up waaay too fast!

(New) Things Sammie does:
cruise the furniture!!!
wave
give kisses (if you're lucky)
clap
click tongue
climb over/up/on everything
sign milk, finished (some times)
drink from cup- with help

Water Bravery

Our friends, Lori and Nate, invited us to go to their neighborhood pool today, which is awesome and has a great kiddie area that is very shallow and has many sprinklers, so I packed up our stuff and we headed out. Sammie didn't mind sitting in the shallow water, which was cold, and was even steady through the mist from the sprinklers, which was even colder- brrr! But I still decided to pick her up and walk around a bit in the sprinkler area where she didn't seem to get phased by the thrashing water in some spots, the water here is about foot and a half deep. I would say that she seemed very nonchalant about the whole experience. After a little bit, she started to get tired or bored or cold, I'm not sure, but she was fussy, so since Nate wanted to go in the big pool, Lori took him over but we stayed. I promised Daddy that I wouldn't take Sammie in the deep water of the big pool since he wants to take her himself. Lori said that the big pool was warm- like bath water- even in the shallow part, so we had to check it out. It was great! Sammie LOVED it! We sat in the shallow section (about 6 inches deep) where she splish-splashed and once she got comfortable, started crawling through the pool (along the shallow part, head out of water of course). She wanted  to crawl to where it started to get deeper, but I kept picking her up... she's just going to have to wait for Daddy. She also loved watching the the lifeguards as they rotated through.... I'm guessing she'll have a lifeguard summer job when she gets older- hee hee hee
During bath, I made sure to get all the sun block out of her hair. Lately, she's been fighting against leaning back to wash the shampoo out, so since she's been brave with all the water today, I didn't fight her back. I tried to stop some of the water from getting in her face, but dumped it on her head to get the soap out. She wiped her eyes and went about playing. I hope this water bravery stays!

I drank ALL my appy juice from my cup!

Hi Daddy! I'm going to the pool today!

My first seat in the kiddie pool

Mama, I wanna go- go- go!!!
PS~ Sammie had a "back-to-normal" poop this morning! I hope this continues. No more poop scare.

Missing Mommy is Sweet

Sammie has been VERY clingy to me lately. Luckily, she doesn't freak out when I leave her at Grandma's since she's comfortable and happy there; but once I get home, she just wants me to hold her... and after a day's work, lugging around drugs and all, it's nice to carry something so sweet in my arms!

Pooped Out

Samantha was so happy to see Cousin Nater at Grandma's this morning since he's been out of town for a week. She was pooped by the time I went to pick her up and slept for an hour in her car seat. Speaking of poop- yes, I know, TMI- but I am starting to get concerned about her poop. I am going to see how it is this week and check with the pedi if it doesn't get back to normal. It's been about 3 days and it's dry and a tiny amount that just sticks to her butt. Seems like she's dehydrated, but she gets enough milk, food, and even 2 ounces of water a day!

Lockin' It Down

Since Sammie is so mobile and it's just a matter of time before she can walk, Daddy put the new locks in some of the cabinet doors. She's already opening them, with one hand on the door but then falls on her bottom.

Helping Daddy put the locks in

Wow, Daddy. Do you think I can do that one day?

Tonight we went to a work BBQ/shower for John and Marlene who are getting married in a couple of weeks. It was nice to see everyone from work and hang out. Sammie did such a good job :)

New foods Sammie's eating:
watermelon
cucumber
garlic sausage
Apple and Blackberry Gerber food
She's also starting to like her veggie Gerber puffs

Women's Health 5k

Samantha and I walked in the Women's Health 5k for Cedar Park Regional this morning with our friend Marti, who also brought her puppy Ella. Sammie loves watching doggies and trying to pet them. They usual sit still and let her, unlike Ali Kat who takes off running if Sammie gets too close. Well, we finished the "race" in about 52 minutes, but we just walked it... we were in NO hurry to finish (Mommy doesn't exercise).

All finished!
One day Daddy will make music with me!....

Poop Poop Be-Doop

Alas! Samantha pooped this morning again! and once more after her nap! Good thing I canceled her appointment. She was pretty wild this morning and just wanted to keep disturbing Daddy while he was working, so I had to get her out of the house. We visited good ol' Walmart to get a few things, then later she and I went to a Women's Expo at the hospital. She skimped on her 5:00 nap and was tired and a little cranky, but still enjoyed all of the attention she received!
For dinner she had her usual veggies and I gave her some Apples and Blackberries for "dessert". I figure right now, she needs to have some kind of apple once a day, for fiber. She liked it. She seems to be doing so much better gobbling up all her dinner.

PS~ They came to get the kitties this morning, but Mama Voodoo escaped while animal control was trying to transfer her. She's back, now, and crying out for her babies. It's very sad. I see how protective she was of them, and now they are gone. I couldn't imagine :(

Silly Appointment

Today was going on day 5 that Sammie hadn't pooped. She wasn't eating as well as usual and was taking forever to finish a bottle for Grandma. I called the doctor to see if it was ok to give her a suppository and they made me make an appointment! I couldn't believe it. I'm sure they would charge me 100 bucks just to say "Ok, go ahead and give her a suppository." Duh. Luckily, after dinner tonight, I smelled something funny... Sammie pooped! Yay! Not much, but it does mean that her ducts are working and she won't be so stuffed. I will go ahead and cancel that silly appointment.

Good morning! Off to Grandma's.

Hi! Mommy made me some teething cookies. They are yum!

Daddy's new toy. We are going to make music together.

Click Clack

Samantha's mood was much better today. She is getting to be her ol' self again, just still full of it. Today is day 4 of no poop. Poor thing! We've been going through the fresh apple juice. For lunch, she sucked it down! She drank it as if it was going to make her poop when it was gone... but still nothing.
Another note: I realized that she hasn't weened herself off the breast because she ate from me all day. Whew. I was really upset and stressed thinking that she had. Now I can go back to my regular pumping schedule, but have learned my lesson that weening could happen any time, so I'd better use the frozen milk first, instead of donating it to Mother's Milk Bank. Sorry, but whatever's left in the end is yours.

Well, we learned tonight that Sammie has yet another new trick! She has learned how to click her tongue. It is too funny!... and since she couldn't stop doing it, I got lots of video. Another new thing she has been doing for a couple weeks is sharing with me the toys she likes to chew on, especially her tub toys. She will chew on it and then hand it over to my mouth and when I take a bite of it she will giggle :) She also waves...... to everyone and anything.
