Tornado Daddy Day 3

(Friday, April 8, 2011)

Mommy only had to work for 3 hours. Daddy got off work just as Mommy was going in, so I stayed home instead of going to Grandma's. I missed her. Daddy and I played and took a walk around the neighborhood and I didn't want to take a nice long nap for him. I was too excited!

New Things:
I roll from back to front and some times I look like a spinning tornado, I just go and go
I like to eat my washcloth in the bath tub
I stick my tongue out when I smile and raspberry a lot
I like to look at how my fingers move
My hair is getting so thick!

Daddy, Day Two!

Mommy had another closing shift so I got to spend extra time with Daddy again today :)  We played and laughed, pulled Ali Kat's tail and then cooked Mommy dinner.  I have a lot of fun with Daddy but I sure was glad to see Mommy when she came home ;)

A Little Cryin' Never Hurt No One

Sammie hasn't slept well for the past few days. Maybe a growth spurt? We believe she's still hungry, so we are making sure she gets full- full- full before bed, which means rice cereal and increasing her night time bottle to 6 ounces. We hope this does the trick. No one likes to be awaken at 2am by a crying baby!

Tired :/

After Grandma's today, I spent the evening with Daddy since Mommy had to work late. I had lots of fun playing with Daddy, and bouncing, and just hanging out! He makes me laugh so much.

Baby Needs a New Pair of Shoes

Samantha got a new pair of shoes today. It's funny that she rubs her feet on the floor or couch trying to get the shoes off, but she tolerates them for the most part. I am hoping she will get used to having them on her feet, so when the time comes to actually wear shoes, she'll like it. They are cute: pink mary-jane-type with lady bugs and hearts :)

We watched/helped Daddy put some new flowers in the ground today. Sammie is still a lil' vampire outside and doesn't like the sun much. It's hard to get her to smile out there.

Sammie had rice cereal for dinner tonight. I made it pretty soupy... a little too soupy. She ate mostly all of it, but also let some dribble down her chin. Next time, I am going to make it thicker so it doesn't run down. She also feels the need to chew on her fingers and bib- What A Mess!  After rice, I gave Samantha her sippy cup of water. She held it herself and drank it all without making a mess. She certainly is progressing to being a BIG GIRL!

World of Wonder

What a day! While we were playing on the floor, Sammie ROLLED OVER from back  to front! Since she isn't swaddled anymore, she really is practicing to move her little body! She'll be ready to crawl soon, I'm sure.
I left to run some errands and let Sammie sleep. Daddy said she didn't sleep long, so when she woke up they went across the street to play some basketball. She was so interested in watching the boys play.... and smiled while Daddy played. When they got home, Sammie helped Daddy make a chocolate pudding pie- YUM!
She was sooo tired tonight. Hope she sleeps well!

Today we celebrate our new NOLA friend's arrival... Happy Birthday, Andrew Carlos!! We are so excited he arrived safely and we can't wait to meet him. Congratulations to the Graff Family~ Teresa, Nick & Big Brother Dominic!

I Don't Wanna Sleep

My mommy and daddy went out to dinner tonight and I stayed home while Grandma watched me. I did not want to go to sleep for her!- I was waiting for Mommy and Daddy to come home. Good thing I took some awesome naps today! ~Sammie

Ali is too funny with Sammie. When Sammie cries, Ali will go running to see what's wrong, like she did last night (and multiple other times). It's just too funny and sosweet. If only Ali could give Sammie her paci or feed her a bottle! Thanks, Ali Roux, for looking out for your baby!  >^.^<

The Watchful Owl

During the night, I heard Sammie wake up. Out of habit, I got up to check on her and get her paci (I don't think I need to do this anymore, but I do)- Since she's free to roam, roaming is what she does. She got herself to one side of the crib and had kicked her rain forest crib toy ON! I felt bad turning it off and putting her back to sleep because I felt like I should have let her enjoy herself as a reward for getting it on. Oh well. Zzzz..... Awake again. I think she may have been crying this time. I tried looking for the paci and couldn't find it. As I was looking, Sammie rolled from her back to her tummy! I let her be and left the room and watched her in the monitor. Not a good position for her yet, she just wanted to keep her head face down. Back up again to roll her to her side. I wrote all this down in my book as it happened. Good thing, because when I woke up I couldn't remember if I dreamed it or if it was real.

Tonight was Sammie's first night with rice cereal. Let's just say, it's not safe for anyone in the kitchen when feeding a baby who is in "raspberry mode".
