Butterflies & Rainbows

Today was our first Mommy & Me yoga class. We had a lot of fun. There were 4 other kids in class: a 6 month, 8 month, and 2 20 month olds. The 6 and 8 month olds were not mobile at all and the 20 month olds were just running around and getting in to things... and guess who was behind them?! Yep. Yep. Our lil' Sammie! She sure does think she's big girl running with the big kids! She was having so much fun, she didn't even pay attention to ME. When it was time for Mommy and Baby poses, I had no baby. Once, when the instructor was showing how to do a pose with baby, she just grabbed Sammie right up since she was right there up front and showed the class what to do. It was cute. I think we are going to like going to this class every week, except Sammie's schedule gets thrown out of whack! Oh well.

This evening Daddy and I went to a movie for the first time alone and Sammie stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Wells. She was excited to hang with them and didn't want to nap. Hope she sleeps well tonight! I even got to witness her climb up and over the couch. I sure am amazed at her doing this. She knows just where to tuck in those feet. Grandpa says we should install rock climbing rocks on her wall... LOL.... we'll see about that!

Sammie vs The Bubbles

Sammie got a big tub bath tonight. Once again, it took her a minute to figure out that she has the freedom to roam, but when she did, she kicked her legs and crawled. She even tried to put her face in the water like we were at the pool. For an extra bonus, I added some bubbles for her to enjoy. For some reason, bubbles weird her out. Nonetheless, it was hilarious when she put her face in the water and came up with a bubble goatee! ha ha ha

In reference to a previous post about Sammie climbing....
You know the one I'm talking about- the one where Grandma got video of her climbing the couch up the window-  Well, I didn't get video yet (nor could I attach it), but this wasn't a one time occasion. Grandma sent a pic of her in the window again! It's official... she's a monkey! And doesn't that make you want to sing?

Tick-Tock- Dada Time!

All day it was Dadadadadadadada. Sammie kept bugging Daddy while he worked and fought her naps- When I put her in the crib half asleep, I could hear her in the monitor singing "Dadadada..." Finally around 3:30, as I held her, I said "Sammie, we are going to set the kitchen timer for 35 minutes for Daddy to get off work and then you can play with him". As I was making her special cookies, she started crawling towards the office door.... sure enough the alarm was going to beep in 1 minute! What a little clock! She could not wait to play with Daddy and just have him hold her! He even gave her her night-night bottle and she was out like a light.

I've been thinking that we have soooo many nicknames for Samantha. Some stick, some come and go, and some just don't fit her personality! I decided to make a list of all the names she has been given, just for our sweet memories.... Samantha, you are our everything!

Rumor Has It

So, Daddy told me that Grandma has a video of Sammie climbing on top of the couch and then climbing up the window. I am very excited to see it! I guess Sammie did keep Grandma busy while Cousin Nate's away.
Today was also the first time that Daddy took Sammie to the grocery store. He said that she did a great job being a good girl and tried to eat everything he put into the cart. He mustn't have waved any coupons in front of her, because she always eats all of mine!

Happy 4th of July!

A tom boy in the making... She was so upset I put a dress on her, that she grabbed to rip it off and fussed! It kept her from crawling and climbing. Poor girl.  

I'd like to order some brisket and a full slab of ribs please.

Happy 4th of July

Since the fireworks display was cancelled all over the city, we decided to stay out of the heat and enjoy a nice family dinner at the County Line. It was nice and it was just us... The first family dinner outing we've ever had with the 3 of us :)
... and we got to see the turtles swimming.

Chillin'

After an eventful day yesterday, we played it low key today! Sammie woke up early and went down for a nap with a quickness afterward. We hung around the house and she watched Daddy mow and helped Mommy vacuum. She has never been scared of the vacuum cleaner but the last time I vacuumed she crawled to me for me to hold her. I had thought it was funny like she was protecting me, but when she did it today, I realized that she doesn't like the noise it makes on the tile. She never did fuss or make a peep, but I saw her grab her ear. She doesn't mind the vacuum on the carpet... where it belongs.

Clean up!

For dinner we went to Grandma and Grandpa Wells'. Sammie was so full of energy and just couldn't slow it down.... until we got in the car and she conked out. When we got home and she woke up a little bit later, she changed into jammies, had a bottle and went to back to sleep. Guess she's resting up for The 4th tomorrow.

Birthday Brunch Day

We celebrated Lori's birthday by going for brunch and then the pool.... even the daddies went! Boy was it a lot of fun. Daddy was having such a good time that he just didn't want to spoil it by dunking Sammie, so that'll just have to wait for another day. However, Sammie did get to "swim" around in the deep parts of the pool with Daddy, and she did a great job kicking her legs and drinking the water. Once she got in the car seat it was over, she took a 3 hour nap! We really wore her out!

This evening as she was playing we noticed new things that she does:
She learned from Cousin Naters how to whistle, although I think she does it on accident. It sounds like a train whistle.
She pushes her toys crawling on her knees
She is learning "belly/ belly button" and grabs her tummy when I ask where it is. This only happened twice.


It so much fun watching her grow and develop! Every day is something new!
