Feelin' Icky

Poor Sammie isn't feeling right. We're not sure exactly what's going on, but she's just isn't herself. Tuesday, she was fussy around mid-day; I figured it was all the craziness of my family being here and things were different. On Tuesday/Wednesday, I noticed her right eye was very gunky when she woke up. I cleaned it with a warm wet cotton ball throughout the day and it was cleared up by Thursday. But Thursday she was hungry, but wouldn't stay latched on to eat, then would spit it up, and fussing throughout the day. At night-night time, the same thing with the feeding, but threw it all up on me. She was also so tired, but didn't allow us to put her down to sleep. Matt paced with her for 2 hours. Every time she fell asleep in his arms and he put her down, she would wake up screaming! This isn't my baby. My baby goes to bed right away. So, we accepted that she just didn't feel well and thank goodness, this is rare. (At least she still slept through the night!)
Today, pretty much the same thing. She'd eat some, then spit up and fussed on and off throughout the day and just wanted to be held. I figured she was having some acid reflux, but I don't know. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to go to the park for a walk. She slept almost the whole time- Go figure. She loves her bath, so we let her spend some extra time in there kicking up a storm! But when it was time for jammies, she cried hysterically. She was so upset her face turned red. We snapped her jammies up and I got her fed. She didn't eat long before she was CONKED out! She was just so tired. I hope she sleeps well and wakes up to the new year full of brightness and joy!

What A Day

Grandma and Uncle Brian decided to leave this morning instead of tomorrow. So, we had to say good-bye. Too bad they couldn't have stayed longer. It would have been nice getting to know them a little more, but I'll see them again when we visit New Orleans. Tonight Mommy's friend, Angela, came over- FINALLY- to meet me. I had fun with her, but wound up falling asleep on her shoulder zzz

Oh yeah~ During the past couple of days, when I take a bath, I learned to kick my feet. Tonight I was kicking up a storm! Mommy says she was in the "splash zone" hee hee ~Sammie

Getting pumped for the Saints game. Who Dat!

What? I can mean-mugg.

Shopping

My mom and I finally got to finish up our Christmas shopping today (Wednesday the 23rd) and Sammie was a trooper. We did stop a couple times for her to eat- which was the only time she got fussy. Other than that, she either slept or looked around. The first time she woke up, we were in Ross and she looked so confused. It was funny. During a feeding, she heard a little boy crying, and in the middle of her feeding she stopped, looked at me, and gave the biggest pout like she was about to start fussing- even her eyes got all red. I guess she understood what the little boy was fussing about... some kind of baby language... She feels empathy...?
Where are we? Are we still in line? Geez.

Waiting on Santa

Grandma Maria got here yesterday and she can't believe how big I am! It's only been 1 month and I can stand and smile and talk and giggle! She's so funny when she talks and I love talking back to her and we laugh.  AND Mommy is impressed that I am sleeping more at night. The passed 4 nights I have slept 9+ hours. She keeps saying I'm such an angel,  but I'm wondering when that'll change *evil giggle*  Not much new has happened, just waiting on this fat guy named Santa to come visit Friday night and bring me presents. We'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll leave out some oatmeal chocolate chipper cookies that my Daddy bakes *wink* Here are some new pictures of me...

Yeah, I'm 2 months and can chill in my Bumbo

Can't stop giggling

OH YEAH! Mommy and Daddy went and met with this minister guy today to get me baptized on Sunday, even though they say I'm already an angel. It doesn't sound as exciting as Christmas, but I bet'cha I'll be the cutest one there at church! ~Sammie

Pre-Wells-Christmas

Today Sammie stayed with her Grandma Wells while I stayed home to clean up and prepare for Grandma Corte. It was a little lonely and quiet in the house without her, but it was only for a few hours. She did very well, and I did better than I thought I would. Sammie's so laid back, I should have known she would be ok. Now, we'll see what happens when I head back to work :/

Last night was Samantha's first mini-Christmas. She got to open a present from Auntie A, Uncle Shake, and Cousin Nate since they won't be here for Christmas. Sammie didn't know what to do with all the paper she was covered in... she seemed a little confused.
It was almost bigger than her.

The Poor Babies

The shots kicked in for Sammie yesterday. She was cranky, tired- but didn't want to sleep, hungry- but didn't want to eat. I gave her some Tylenol and she took a nice long nap. Then there's Ali. Matt noticed that she had been scratching her ears like crazy and I noticed her fur thinning by hers ears, so we made a vet appointment for her. They couldn't find anything wrong. They said that it's either allergies (to the tree) or stress. Hmm... what could Ali be stressed about? A new baby... that cries. A big tree in the house that she can't climb? Not sure, but she got a steroid shot and was pretty lethargic when she got home. Our poor babies.

Big Girl (Doctor Update)

Yesterday we went to the doctor for Sammie's 2 month check up and to get her vaccines. She is getting big. She is 11 pounds, 1 ounce and 22 1/4 inches long. The doctor was surprised that when you lie Samantha down and pull her up by her hands, she comes straight up in a sitting position with no wobbly head. What? that's not normal? Apparently, not. Most babies' heads are still a little wobbly. Hmm... Anyway. She did a really good job getting her vaccines. Matt didn't want to be the one that she looked at, to associate the two (LOL), so I was "holding" her. There were 3 shots, she opened her mouth to cry, but it was just building up until the nurse was done- Good thing she was fast- Then she let it all out! But it was pretty quick. Daddy was holding her and she kicked her head back, cried for a couple minutes, then made a pouty face, smiled and cried a little again. Poor baby! I went to check out and before I was done, Sammie and Daddy came strolling out the room. She was pretty much back to normal the rest of the day... And so far, so good today. Which is a good thing, cause we are going to decorate the tree!
well, it was kinda funny :/

I am soooo ready to go home!

Safe at home, at last!

The Mall Outting

Sammie and I have gone out and about, but today was our first day out to the MALL... Christmas-time-shopping- mall! It wasn't too bad since it was daytime on a Thursday. We saw Santa, but didn't meet him. Should I say "I" saw Santa. Sammie slept the whole time... Go figure! We'll meet Santa on Saturday. Today, we got to catch up and meet doctor, and friend, Mikaela (Dr. Rush) and little Rieston, who is almost 4 weeks old. He was so tiny. To think Sammie was just that small! Wow! how time flies.

Silly Girl

We have been finding Sammie in funny sleeping positions lately... Silly girl!

This was at  night. By the morning, she fought her way out of the "jacket" and had her right arm stretched up over her head, like the above picture. I wish I had a picture of it, but it was around 5am!

She has also been making more funny faces, babbling and smiling more. It's upsetting to know that once she really gets into it, I'll be headed off to work :/

I love hanging with Daddy <3

7's Just As Good As 8

Last night Sammie slept 7 hours! Man, she's getting good at this night-night thing! I had to go in and get her this morning. I could hear her in the monitor, but when I'd check on her she would be asleep. 8:00am was time to get up. She was a little groggy, but Daddy got her in high spirits after play-time and her feeding.
Sleep makes me happy!

All bundled up on a cold night

8 is Great!

Last night was supposed to freeze, so we bundled Sammie in warm clothes and lots of blankets and she slept for 8 straight hours (9:30ish- 5:30am)! She must have liked the warmth and tucked blankets. She woke up to eat and went back to sleep for another 2 hours and so on. We didn't get out of bed- and crib- until almost 9am! Daddy laughed that we "slept in". Seems like when she gets that much good and warm sleep, she gets all smiley and goo-goo-ga-ga-y....
*smile*

You're looking mischievous with those elf ears, Sammie!
